Thuringia is located in the heart of Germany and although it doesn’t have
many castles, one of the most famous German castles is located here.
Wartburg Castle, situated near the town of Eisenach is the
place where Martin Luther stayed for one year amongst others.
Other interesting historical buildings in Thuringia include the
Elisabethenburg Castle or the palace of Altenstein.
