The first castles in today’s Slovakia appeared in the 11th century. Many of
the castles in Slovakia are currently in ruins, but many of them are in
good shape and are awaiting visitors.
One of the most popular of the Slovak castles, Bojnice Castle, which was most probably built in the 12th
century. Bojnice is also one of the oldest castles in present day Slovakia. The Bratislava Castle, located in the country’s capital is
distinguished by its four towers and it is also a popular tourist spot.
Čachtice Castle is currently a ruin, but
it is also worth visiting by those more adventurous.
