Fortifications in Bermuda were built by the Britsh to defend these
territories.
One of the oldest of these, the Fort St Catherine, dating back to the early 17th century
is a major touristic attraction today, housing a museum. Scaur Hill Fort was built in the 19th century but it is no
less impressive.
The Camden House, built in the 18th century is one of the
buildings that incorporates West-Indian architecture influences. Although not a palace in
the classical form, and modest in dimensions it is one of the most representative buildings
in Bermuda.
